Somatic Experiencing, Trauma Therapy in Olds, Alberta and Virtually Across Alberta
You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply know that something in your life needs to change. You don't need to have all the answers before starting therapy.
Meet Elizabeth, BSW, MSW, RSW
I'm a registered social worker in clinical practice offering counselling in Olds, Alberta.
Healing Is Already Within You
I believe we all have an innate capacity to heal. My role as a therapist is not to "fix" you, but to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and curious enough to discover what healing looks like for you.
I've always been drawn to environments where conversations about healing, growth, and self-discovery are welcomed. One of the greatest privileges of my work is walking alongside people as they uncover new possibilities for themselves and experience meaningful change.
If You've Found Your Way Here
You are ready, or even just willing, to take the brave first step of reaching out for support. You don't need to have all the answers. Curiosity about your own experiences, a desire for something different, and an openness to exploring yourself are enough.
How We Work Together
My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and deeply respectful of your pace. I believe healing happens when we are truly witnessed. Together, we'll move slowly, allowing space to notice new feelings, experiences, and patterns without rushing the process.
I strive to balance gentle guidance with genuine curiosity, always following your lead and honoring your unique experience. Therapy is invitational rather than prescriptive, and I trust that you are the expert on your own life.
Listening to the Wisdom of the Body
My work is grounded in the belief that our lived experiences are held within the body. Rather than pushing through pain, we make space for it, gently exploring moments of activation in ways that feel tolerable and safe. Together, we'll work with patterns that may have kept you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in cycles that no longer serve you. As the nervous system begins to shift, new possibilities for living, relating, and healing can emerge.
Somatic Experiencing®
I am a certified Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner. This training profoundly shaped both my personal and professional understanding of healing and strengthened my belief that our bodies hold an incredible capacity for restoration.
I continue to deepen my practice through ongoing consultation, professional development, and connection with the Somatic Experiencing community. My work is informed by current understanding of trauma, the nervous system, and the body's natural ability to move toward regulation and resilience. My approach involves regular, weekly sessions, designed to provide consistent support and lasting change.
I continue to deepen my practice through ongoing consultation, professional development, and connection with the Somatic Experiencing community.
Where New Possibilities Begin
Healing doesn't always happen through dramatic breakthroughs. Often, it begins with small moments that feel different than what you've experienced before, a little more ease, a little more choice, or a little more connection with yourself.
One of my favourite moments in therapy is witnessing a client become curious enough to try something new. Those moments remind me that change doesn't come from forcing ourselves to be different. It comes from creating the conditions where something new can naturally emerge.
I believe the possibilities for change are endless, and that life after therapy can feel like discovering a new way of being with yourself and the world.
In Somatic Experiencing®, trauma therapy, you will be gently supported in exploring the wisdom of your nervous system, allowing stuck survival patterns to soften and making space for new experiences of safety, connection, and possibility.
